Software that
thinks ahead

Twenty years of engineering, from factory floors to app stores. End-to-end products, delivered fast, AI-accelerated where it counts.

Hans Hoeijmakers, founder of SynapSys Software

From Big Tech to Independent

After more than two decades in software engineering, including seven years at Amazon in Silicon Valley, I returned home to the Netherlands with a new mission: to build software that matters. SynapSys Software is the result of that journey.

An unusual mix

My background is broader than most: alongside consumer software at big-tech scale, I have spent years on the factory side of hardware, from shop-floor control for Amazon's display production line in Eindhoven to the wafer-data systems of Philips Semiconductors. That mix of consumer polish on one side and industrial rigor on the other shapes everything I build.

Experience, amplified by AI

Today I work from a continuously evolving balance between 20+ years of engineering experience and the productivity that modern AI tooling unlocks. Experience decides what is worth building and what good looks like; AI shrinks the distance between idea and product.

Pragmatic Engineering

More than two decades in the industry taught me to pick the right tool for the job, and to value stability and user experience over hype. That spans consumer apps, cloud backends, industrial systems and AI: whatever the problem calls for.

Product Engineering

End-to-end delivery of consumer software: cross-platform mobile apps and games, web frontends, and the scalable cloud backends behind them, from first concept all the way to go-live.

Industrial Automation

Automation for hardware and semiconductor companies: production-line software, test and measurement systems, data pipelines and internal tooling that removes manual work and scales with the factory.

AI-Accelerated Delivery

LLM-powered features inside products, and an AI-augmented way of working that pairs senior engineering judgment with today's fastest tooling: more shipped, at higher quality, in less time.

Proven in production

From semiconductor factories to the app stores: what two decades of shipping looks like in practice

Connecting semiconductor factories

For Philips Semiconductors, now NXP, I built MapWareHouse: the system that exchanged wafer test results between test and assembly factories, so each factory could build on the other's measurements instead of working blind.

Software on the factory floor

At Amazon's display-technology facility in Eindhoven, I was responsible for the database and shop-floor control systems that steered a novel production line, deciding what happened to every unit at every step.

From first schema to live platform

As lead developer I built the first version of the ITIX platform from scratch, from database architecture to a fully functional web application, then ran its releases, support and high-traffic peaks for five years.

MY APPS
GeoChopper gameplay: a helicopter flying over a map of Europe

GeoChopper

Live

A geography flight game: pilot a helicopter across real-world maps against the clock. Built end to end with Flutter, Flame and Firebase, live on the App Store and Google Play. A Solana edition is in review for the dApp Store, with NFT skins, collectible achievements and fully on-chain purchases.

Shuvvle gameplay: a syllable word puzzle

Shuvvle

Live

A casual word-puzzle game, free to play worldwide on the App Store, Google Play and the Solana dApp Store, where on-chain payments sit next to regular in-app purchases.

The Solana editions are my ongoing Web3 exploration: game items as assets the player actually owns, and payments that settle directly between player and studio.

What drives me

To empower people through intuitive digital experiences that merge the joy of play with genuine cognitive growth, and to help ambitious teams build software that lasts

Engineering Excellence

Leveraging two decades of expertise to build lean, secure, and high-performance software.

Purposeful Growth

Designing products that challenge the mind and provide lasting value beyond the screen.

Radical Simplicity

Complex technology should feel effortless, whether it's a game anyone can pick up or an automated production line an operator can trust.

Let's Build Something Together

I am open to freelance opportunities and partnerships: automating business processes of any kind, or teaming up to build the next big consumer app or SaaS product. Let's talk.
